American Legion Bean Suppers - are held at the American Legion Hall, 526 Main Steet, on the first Saturday of every month from 4 to 6 p.m. Cost: $6 for adults and $3 for children 12 years old and younger. Join us for great homemade beans, ham and desserts. Just think: no dishes to wash!
Blessed Bargains Thrift Shop - is located in the basement of the First Congregational Church, Main Steet. Most children’s clothes are 50 cents, and there is a large, ever-changing selection of toys, books and household goods. Blessed Bargains is open the second and last Saturday of each month, year round, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The Farmington Board of Selectmen - is looking for a few good men and women to serve on the following boards: Planning Board, Zoning Board of Adjustment, Conservation Commission, Downtown Committee, and Economic Development Commission. For more information, contact the Town Hall at 755-2208
New Hours for Town Clerk - Monday-Wednesday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m., Thursday 8:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Friday 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Selectmen's office hours are unchanged - Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Farmington Landfill - (a.k.a. the dump) is open Tuesdays, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; Wednesdays, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.; Fridays, 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; and Saturdays, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Gold landfill stickers are $1.00 apiece and are available at many of the downtown stores and at the town hall. One sticker per 30 gallon bag. Two stickers for larger bags.
